Once you've 5-starred every song (including the gigs you have to pay for) you will unlock a new guitar shape in the form of a dollar sign ($) confirming you did it right. It's best to make a list of the songs you've gone back and 5-starred on a lower difficulty so you don't forget which ones you've 5-starred and which ones you haven't. *NOTE* If you played the song first on a higher difficulty (ie expert) and go back and 5 star the song on hard, it will show in the gig list as whatever you received on expert (not the new rating you gotten on the lower difficulty) but the song WILL STILL COUNT. This can be done on any difficulty and the difficulties can be mixed and matched, for example you might've beaten the career on expert and gotten 5 stars on every song except 5, you can replay those songs on hard difficulty and get 5 stars and it will still count.
In order to unlock all guitars, you need to 5 star every song in the lead guitar career.
